However, i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">n my experience<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">most\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">companies\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">are\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">still\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">trying to understand what\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">this\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">actually\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">mean<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">HR\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">remains<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0the lowest ranked user of metrics and analytics in the corporate world.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Although<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I\u2019m pleased to report<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0this trend is now changing,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0you may recall<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Josh\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Bersin<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0talk<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0about\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/joshbersin\/2015\/02\/01\/geeks-arrive-in-hr-people-analytics-is-here\/\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the arrival of the \u2018geeks\u2019 in HR<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0back in 2015.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">But the truth is Peopl<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">nalytics in HR is right at the beginning. CIPD CEO<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Peter Cheese<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, identified People A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">nalytics and HR data\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">as key themes for HR<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, stating that the focus must be on \u201canalytics, better numbers and being able to better measure what is really happening in\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">organisations<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0around human capital\u201d.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sounds pretty sensible, right<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">? Which employers wouldn\u2019t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0want to understand<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0a broad<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0range of issues relating<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">their\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">employe<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">es?<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Think about h<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ow\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">valuable<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">it\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">would\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">be to obtain the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0information<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0below<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, understand it and then use it<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0to make decisions:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Data relating to engagement \u2013 are your employees recommending you as a great place to work? Are they thinking about looking for a job at another company?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ata relating to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">leadership \u2013 are your employees motivated by the way your leaders communicate the company vision or purpose? Do your people have confidence in their leaders?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Data relating to role \u2013 can your employees see how their work contributes to the goals of the company?
